Leadership Coaching: What to expect
-
Consultation
During your free 15-minute phone consultation, I’ll ask you why you’re seeking coaching and what you’re hoping to achieve. You will also have the opportunity to ask me any questions you might have. During this time you and I will both be able to assess if I am a good fit for your current coaching needs.
-
First Session
All sessions are conducted virtually. Your first coaching session will be your time to discuss, in greater detail, what we discussed during your consultation. We’ll explore your role as a leader, your experience, and the barriers you’re facing in being the most effective and confident leader you can be. In this first session, we will also set some goals - don’t worry, we can shift and change your goals at any time! During the final 10 minutes of you session, I will discuss with you my observations, what I think would be most helpful for you, and where I think we should start.

On-Going Sessions
Telling your story is going to be the most important part of your coaching journey. Through the process of story telling, you can “refile” your stories and beliefs so they stop being barriers to your success. Be prepared to do most of the talking during our sessions. I will offer insights and occasionally connect dots that you may not be able to see from your perspective. I will often suggest books, videos, podcasts, and other homework to help you progress on your journey. I may also employ depth psychology interventions to help us explore your unconscious barriers to confidence and success.

FAQs
What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
There is a lot of overlap between coaching and therapy. Generally though, Therapy looks at the past and the present and coaching looks at the present and the future. Therapists are licensed state by state and can only practice in the state or states in which they are licensed. They are governed by licensing boards and often take insurance. Coaches have no governing board so can practice anywhere. Coaches do not take insurance and can be more discreet as there are no guidelines for record keeping and reporting. For some professionals and industries, seeking therapy can hold a stigma that coaching does not. Both are great options. Currently, I only see therapy clients who reside in Arizona.
Do you see coaching clients in person?
Right now I am only seeing coaching clients virtually. That may change, so keep checking back!
Do you offer sliding scale pricing?
I do offer sliding scale pricing. Please reach out and we can discuss options for getting you help.
I used to see you as a therapist, can I see you as a coach now?
Of course! Our sessions will look a little bit different, we may not work on the same things we worked on in therapy, and I’ll be using different techniques and approaches, but if you’re interested in coaching, I would love to coach you!
Do you see teenagers?
I only see adults 18 years and older at this time.
